New DNN Theme Bootstrap4 Instant with SASS

We're now releasing the Bootstrap4 version of our Instant theme. It's super slim and uses SASS, so you can create awesome derivatives in minutes / hours instead of days.

Who is this for

This theme is meant for html/css guys who want to create cool bootstrap4 based themes quickly and using modern development toolchains (Gulp, SASS, etc.) and best practices.

So just to be clear: this is mostly useful if you understand web development/design the automated way, where you define a color and some margins, and then hundreds of lines of CSS are auto-generated for all browsers, use cases etc. This means you should learn these technologies, especially SASS - and of course you could use this theme to start if you've never done this before.

Is it Worth Learning SASS?

Absolutely. We can create simple websites for clubs or budget-tight companies within 1-2 hours using these tools, and with the same tools we can create amazing, complex corporate websites which are easy to maintain and upgrade.

What's in the Package

  1. A clean, best-practices, responsive Bootstrap 4 Skin / Theme
  2. ...based on SASS, with a set of variables-files to customize layouts in minutes
  3. An e-mail encryptor to encrypt mail addresses in the layout
  4. A SEO-title optimizer
  5. An automatic svg/png integration for responsive / retina logos
  6. Layout footer implementing SEO microformats
  7. koi.json to inform components that Bootstrap4 is used
  8. NPM for all dependencies
  9. Gulp to process the sass into the resulting CSS

Getting Started

You can just get the package from the github releases or browse the code on the github repo. In the wiki you'll find basic instructions on how to run gulp and customize colors as a getting started point.

Note that this also works great with the content-templates for bootstrap4.
